This class has been very useful and fun all semester. I’ve learned a lot and I think that the skills I have learned will translate into the real world. My favorite assignments over the semester were first the illustrator assignment and the premiere assignment. The reason the illustrator assignment was my favorite was because I felt like I really understood the illustrator tool and was able to really make my design pop. And the reason I really liked the premiere assignment was because I just find it really fun to make videos. I feel as though I can use many of the skills I’ve learned in this class. I think the one that will come in most handy will be the illustrator skills I have learned. I can see myself somewhere in sales in my future. The skills I have learned in this class will help me clearly advertise an idea by using these creative tools. A skill that I wish I could have learned would be how to animate something using some adobe software. Most of the things that I found helpful to look at was just pictures on google. For example, while trying to animate a sunset for my illustrator assignment I looked up animated sunsets to get an idea of how to make it look good. So just simply looking at other people’s work was the most influential to my own work. Overall, I really enjoyed this class. I think while the tutorials were frustrating and sometimes confusing, they overall payed off and taught me a lot about adobe. I think that the skills I have learned through this class has made me a more attractive candidate for jobs. I thought this class was also very fun, allowing the students to be creative while most classes do not.
Final Video
This assignment posed lots of difficult challenges that I had to get over in order to publish. But overall, I really thought that this assignment was the most fun out of all of the other assignments because I was able to be creative. First starting off with the tutorials I was very confused. None of the program seemed to make any sense to me, and I began to get frustrated with it. But with a little bit of persistence I was able to understand how to edit videos properly. Once I began to edit the videos with ease it started to seem pretty fun to me. Making a story board really helped me figure out the shots I needed to take for this assignment. After I came up with the basic premise, I was able to film the shots quickly and get on with the editing process. Since I already had a pretty good idea of what my story was going to look like the editing was really easy for me to do. Once I had my basic story done, I was able to go in and put some title slides up and make my failure compilation a little funnier and match with the overall feel of my story. Editing it the second time around was kind of hard because I already had most of what I wanted. The first thing I had to do was to fix the credits. I miss spelled my name while typing it in the credits instead of putting Griffin (my name) I accidentally put Griffim (not my name). My brother had pointed it out to my when I showed him the video, so I knew that, that had to be the first thing that I changed. Next, I put a video of me climbing. I thought that it looked better than just black.
Draft video story
The premiere tool is a very interesting tool to edit videos. At first, I really didn’t understand how to work with the tool but through the tutorials I eventually learned how to use it. The first issues that I faced with the tutorials is that I didn’t understand how to upload the video footage but through my phone I was able to airdrop all of the footage that I got. I had a really fun time filming all of my footage for my project and coming up with it. It was a fun challenge to determine what I had to film to make an interesting story. I already had lots of footage from times I took, but I needed to go rock climb a little more to make the story fully flesh out. Once I had all of my footage, I was pretty easily able to edit it. After the tutorials I really understood how to edit my footage. It was fun in the editing process to get new ideas and being able to edit them into the footage. Such as the floating words that would pop up when I fell of the wall. I think some things that I am going to do with this project in the future is find more footage of me climbing but remember to turn the camera so that its long ways, not short ways. Doing this will make the shots look better on screen. Another thing that I think am going to do is to take footage of me preparing to climb before I go on the wall. I think that it will help with the clean look fast pace look of the beginning of my project had. I had a really fun time with the quick cuts in my project, and I want to put more of them in.

Finished audio story
I found that this assignment was very challenging for a multiple amount of reasons. But I think that though making mistakes I learned a lot about the audition tool and am now confident that I understand most of what makes audition helpful for editing audio. Firstly, the tutorials were very confusing. At first I didn’t even know how to record audio for my tutorials. But fortunately, through messing around with my phone I was able to record what I needed and even learned how to easily air drop the audio to my computer. The next thing I found confusing about the tutorials was being able to edit the sound levels in the assignment. But through messing around with the audio I was quickly able to figure out how to fade the sounds in and out and even being able to change the overall amount of sound. Coming up with the idea for the final assignment was a difficult task. But once I came up with the interview, I was sure that it was the best approach to deal with my topic. The first thing I had to come up with was who I was going to interview. My main focus was to find a person who I knew did a lot of outdoor activities and I also wanted to find a person who I was comfortable with so that the interview would feel organic and not just answering the questions like a robot. That’s when I interviewed my roommate who I knew did a lot of outdoor activities and who I was very comfortable with. I feel like after going through all of the tutorials I was pretty well equipped to edit my interview. So I simply added music to make it feel like a podcast and added an intro to make it feel more professional.

Adobe Download Music Loops & Beds
This assignment was a very interesting assignment compared to the other ones. Instead of editing images to create a visual story, we had to edit sounds to make an audio story. I found this to be a very interesting and unique experience. At first, I was having lots of trouble with the tutorials. I didn’t understand how to get my audio or how to transfer the audio over to my computer to edit it. But thankfully I was able to use my phone’s voice memo app to capture the audio I needed for the assignment. Then it was just a simple process of transferring the sound file over through air dropping it to my computer. Once I figured out a simple way to transfer audio from device to device the rest of the program, I found to be very simple and actually kind of fun to work with. My blog revolves around adventure and the outdoors, so I decided to get interviews with people who may have some different experiences with the outdoors that I don’t have. I decided to ask one of my friends their experiences with the outdoors. I interviewed my friend using some of the skills I acquired from my time as a daily evergreen writer. Then once I had my interview done, I had to put it into audition and edit it a little bit. The first thing that I wanted to do is add an into and ending to my interview. So I went to a sample of audio recordings and got two different blues riffs. I thought that these two riffs felt like something relaxed and could go into and interview or podcast. The next thing I did after that was to add a fade going into the audio and a fade going out of the audio to both sides of my interview.

The audio story I plan to tell is going to be about peoples favorite outdoor activities. This relates to my adventure topic because it gets people out of the house and into nature.

Logo Project Final

This project was a really fun way to experiment with illustrator tool. The main learning that comes from these projects is trial and error, and I think that it really helps me understand the program a lot more. During the sketching of the logo I went through many trials. I would sketch and sketch and couldn’t come up with a design I liked, but once I settled on my favorite and started to work on it through photoshop it really started to take shape. During the first my project really started to take shape. I learned a lot about the program while going through it. One of the main things that I learned was how to properly use the gradient tool. The main things I used this for was for the sunset. I was able to add multiple colors to make the illusion of a sunset in the background of my photo. But the main difficulty I had with the draft was that I couldn’t figure out how to make my letters pop out to my audience, and I also wanted my tree on the bottom right to pop out. So, while working on the final draft for my project my two main goals was to fix my letters and make them pop out more and fix the tree so that it too popped out. I couldn’t figure out how to make the letters, so I went into class and my TA was able to help me figure out to apply a gradient. The next thing that I did was fix my tree. The simple way to do that was to just put more texture on the tree. The last things that I did was that I wanted the grass to have more depth so I added a darker gradient so that the grass looked like it trailed off.
