This assignment was a very interesting assignment compared to the other ones. Instead of editing images to create a visual story, we had to edit sounds to make an audio story. I found this to be a very interesting and unique experience. At first, I was having lots of trouble with the tutorials. I didn’t understand how to get my audio or how to transfer the audio over to my computer to edit it. But thankfully I was able to use my phone’s voice memo app to capture the audio I needed for the assignment. Then it was just a simple process of transferring the sound file over through air dropping it to my computer. Once I figured out a simple way to transfer audio from device to device the rest of the program, I found to be very simple and actually kind of fun to work with. My blog revolves around adventure and the outdoors, so I decided to get interviews with people who may have some different experiences with the outdoors that I don’t have. I decided to ask one of my friends their experiences with the outdoors. I interviewed my friend using some of the skills I acquired from my time as a daily evergreen writer. Then once I had my interview done, I had to put it into audition and edit it a little bit. The first thing that I wanted to do is add an into and ending to my interview. So I went to a sample of audio recordings and got two different blues riffs. I thought that these two riffs felt like something relaxed and could go into and interview or podcast. The next thing I did after that was to add a fade going into the audio and a fade going out of the audio to both sides of my interview.
The music at the beginning and end is super good. It flows well with what you’re talking about. The interview questions were well done and it was easy to listen to, no big words and hard to hear audio. It connects to a big audience rather than just someone who likes outdoor activities. One thing that could change is the intro. Going straight into a question is kind of put off so adding an intro , like introducing the person or explaining what you are going to be talking about. It lets listeners know what the podcast is about and can follow along. Also introducing the person you interview can create a connection between the person and the audience. Along with that , you should add your own commentary. How you feel about his answer just to add more depth to the interview. Overall, it is really good and flows really well together.

Griffin,
Wow, that is some groovy music! I love how you start and end the project with music that is related to your topic. I also enjoyed listening to your podcast in general because of how it directly relates to your passion for travel and adventuring outdoors. I also thought the person being interviewed was insightful and had great things to say about his passion for mountain biking and traveling. If I were to make some suggestions I would suggest you include a short bio/description of the person being interviewed to give listeners context on the content. Another suggestion would be to try not to cover up the mic so much while interviewing your subject. There are times during the interview where it sounds like the recording device is moving around and therefore takes away the listeners’ focus from the subject matter. Overall though you are quite the balanced man as far as audio creation goes and I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the final project!

Griffin, I really like your audio topic on adventures and outdoors activities. The music at the start is great for opening the interview up and I think you have a really good starting point with the interview audio and with a few changes, this is an excellent audio project. First, I would edit out unneeded parts in the interview like all the “ums” and the part where you say you could not hear the person you were interviewing. I would also add an introduction to introduce who you are talking to during the interview. Getting rid of the um words would make it sound more clean and being able to introduce the other person and your topic would benefit the listener so they know what is going on and it creates a connection. Overall, great project and I think the audio draft is well on the way to being excellent.
